Facial vascular lesions are may affect our self-esteem, especially if they are dark and placed in a prominent part of our face. They often seem appear in prominent places where they take center stage: our lips, noses, fingers, or by our eyes are all common places for these marks to appear. In the past, your treatment option would be to try to hide them with makeup. Thankfully, we have options now to help! Keep reading to learn more about Telangiectasia, and how you can banish them with our help.

What Are Telangiectasias?

Telangiectasia are blood vessels that are red, purple, or blue. They appear on the surface of the skin often on the face, upper chest, and neck. They are similar to spider veins, which appear on the legs, especially as we get older. The vein in question are not important to bodily function, so removal of them may be a great option, especially if they affect your self esteem.

Where do they come from?

Telangiectasia may come from various aspects of our lives. Genetics reveal a predisposition toward Telangiectasia in certain people, and pregnancy may also encourage their growth (since your body is changing during pregnancy and stress is put on the veins as it does so).

Telangiectasia may also come from outside the body, and exposure to sun and wind, trauma to the skin, surgical incisions, use of medications that widen blood vessels, or even excessive alcohol use have all been well-documented as factors.

How To Treat Telangiectasias

Unfortunately, there are not many options, especially if you are looking for creams or at-home treatments. Thankfully, laser treatments developed in recent years have proven very effective in removing these unsightly veins. Treatments restoring a more clear complexion that you can be proud of. We offer a few options to help tailor treatment to your specific needs. We have vascular lasers such as IPL, V-Beam and Vasculight AND our newest laser, the Fotona Dynamis that can all be effectively used to reduce the appearance of Telangiectasia.
